Rubber

Rubbers represent a group of elastomers with high elasticity and the ability to return to their original shape after deformation. There are many types of synthetic and natural rubbers, such as EPDM, NBR, SBR, CR, or FKM, each suitable for different environments.

Advantages

  • Excellent elasticity
  • Excellent vibration damping
  • Good fatigue resistance
  • Good sealing capability
  • Wide range of types available

Disadvantages

  • Cannot be injection molded like thermoplastics
  • More difficult to recycle
  • Limited dimensional stability
